Welcome to the new NBA. Four quarters of dance competition (Thunder Girls vs. the Laker Girls!) interrupted by brief displays of basketball.
Finish this sentence, 'I never leave home without _________'. 'Mascara, Cell phone and Pepper Spray' says Thunder Girl Hayley.
These assholes are blaming everything and everyone now. Just take your L and move on...

Anyone who knows anything about the NBA knows that what Russ & Serge did was not appropriate. The Hawks don't have to talk about it so much, but what they did was wrong and Scott Brooks wasn't thrilled with it either. We need to act like we've been there before.
Great win though. Let's get San Antonio tomorrow night.
I think we can all agree that it was poor form from the Thunder.

I kind of thought about that when it happened. I thought it was unusual, but not inappropriate. I'm from the Billy Tubbs school: "if you don't want me to run up the score, GET BETTER and STOP ME." Yes, Westbrook should have eaten the ball. Yes, Ibaka shouldn't have run the floor. But, I am SHOCKED that the Hawks are trying to make a big deal of it.
We just need to kick their ass in Atlanta for mouthing off about it.
You never like to see a player playing for stats.
He's young though, am sure he will learn from this.

Basing your thought on a college model is part of the problem. This isn't college sports. It's not a matter of the other team is trying to stop you and they can't. It's that, at that point in the game, the other team is done playing and typically shaking hands and preparing to head off the court. Dunking on a team that isn't playing is not a great accomplishment.
When the Hornets were stationed here in OKC, they played the Lakers back in New Orleans. The Hornets beat them and Rasual Butler fired up a three at the buzzer after the game was over. Byron made him go to the Lakers' locker room and apologize to the team. It is bad form, plain and simple.
You shouldn't be shocked that the Hawks are talking about it. You just don't hear teams talk about it very often because winning teams don't ever do what we did tonight. It's certainly not the end of the world, but hopefully it won't happen again.
This is classless, and there is clearly one (and only one) motivation for this.
Russell Westbrook's Triple double. He got because of that dunk, and Russ knew it and apparently Serge knew it to.
In history, no one will remember this except the Hawks, and even that might not matter.
Young mans mistake, and the Hawks are just bitter (though they have a point)
This is from the Atlanta 'Urinal & Constipation' newspaper website:

Josh was upset about Ibaka’s dunk. The shot clock was off and the Thunder were up 101-92. “That’s a sign of disrespect,” Josh said. “Everybody in the whole league knows that you don’t do nothing like that. We remember something like that.”
Smoove had a conversation with Durant about the play: “He said he was going to handle it because he knew that wasn’t right.”
The basket gave Westbrook his 10th assist for a triple-double.”It doesn’t matter,” Drew said. “You run the clock out. The game is over. You don’t make that kind of play.”
While it should be noted that L.D. left Josh in a game at Toronto so he could get an assist to complete his triple-double, the difference was that it happened with 4:30 left.

Brooks handled it well. They know better. It was wrong, but good win and great night
Atlanta Hawks hypocrisy at its finest. Josh Smith stayed in that earlier game only so he could get a triple double though the game was no longer in doubt.

Smith has triple-double, Hawks rout Raptors 96-78
Nov 28, 4:48 pm EST
TORONTO (AP)—One assist shy of a triple-double, Josh Smith started getting worried. One teammate had already missed a shot that would have given him his 10th assist, and time was ticking down in the fourth quarter.
“When it was coming down to it, I was like ‘Man, I’m not going to get it,”’ Smith said. “We ran a couple of plays for me to try and get the assist.”
It paid off with 4:30 left when Smith fed Joe Johnson for a layup, then looked over at his bench with a relieved smile. Mission accomplished.
Smith had his third career triple-double, Marvin Williams added 17 points and 12 rebounds, and the Atlanta Hawks beat the Toronto Raptors 96-78 Sunday.

The COMMENTS in that AJC article are interesting. They are lighting up the Hawks, Coach Drew and their management, but THEY are basically saying Smith needs to STFU.
You showed absolutely no hypocrisy with this post. There is nothing wrong with staying in to get a stat that occurs with 4:30 left in the game. Both teams are still playing at that point. I am a HUGE Thunder fan, but these are totally different situations and Russ & Serge were wrong.
wrong? yes. young? yes. even though he had a very nice game was russ somewhat frustrated by a lack of calls he hasnt been getting? yes/ emotions ran wild and he made a mistake he wont make again in his career. its over and done with now, im sure he will man up.
